Glide ID issues and operates the GDC 2026 attendee badge, and is the controller of the personal data described here.

What the badge holds

Four things: your given name, your family name, your badge number and your portrait. Nothing else is in the credential. Issuing a badge sends more than that to our issuing service — your sponsor, your access level and, if you gave one, your phone number, plus your registration reference when the badge is issued to Glide ID — but only the four elements above are written into the credential on your phone.

Where it lives

The badge is issued to your device and stays on your phone. It is not held in a cloud account and it is not synced. Showing it at a reader hands those four elements to that reader over a short-range connection, and only after you approve the request on screen.

What a reader keeps

A door reader writes an entry log on the reader device: the time of the scan, the decision, and your badge number whenever the reader could read one — a badge turned away at the door is logged too. It does not keep your name or your portrait. A session reader records that a badge number checked in to a session, which is sent to us so we can email you that session’s notes.

What we hold, and until when

The registration system holds your name, email address, badge number, sponsor, ticket type, and — where you gave them — your phone number and portrait, along with the state of your badge issuance, the emails we sent you, and your session check-ins. We delete all of it within 30 days of the event closing, by 3 October 2026. You can ask us to delete it sooner at the address below.

What we do not do

There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind — not in the app, and not on this site. Nothing here is shared with a data broker or used to build a profile.
